how it all works

Inquiries & estimates

VIRTUAL ESTIMATES: If you would like to inquire about a repair or refinishing project, you can link to our GET AN ESTIMATE form by clicking the red button at the top of the page. Submissions are reviewed several times a week.

IN SHOP ESTIMATES: We are also happy to discuss your repair in person at our shop but it is best to call and set an appointment to ensure the right person is available to offer an estimate. FWR cannot guarantee intake of your project the same day.

ONSITE EVALUATIONS: Need us to come to you? We offer onsite evaluations for $200.00. That fee can be applied towards repairs and/or travel fees if you decide to go forward that day.

SCHEDULING

ONSITE REPAIRS: Once we have confirmation of your intent to move forward we will put you in the queue to schedule an appointment. We will contact you the week of your appointment to confirm and then text you day-of 15 minutes before arrival.

IN SHOP REPAIRS/REFINISHING: Please schedule a day and time to drop off your project. You will be given an intake receipt and asked to review and sign our terms and conditions.

TIMELINES & PICK UPS

TIMELINES: While we do our best to complete all repairs and refinishing in a timely manner, unexpected complications, weather, humidity, and temperature make it impossible to anticipate exact completion date and we cannot guarantee completion timelines. 

CLIENT PICK UP: Upon completion of project, notification and an invoice will be sent.  All completed projects must be picked up within 14 days of notification.  We have a small shop so after 14 days we will have to charge storage fees equaling $75.00 per week, charged at day 15 and every 7 days after.  We will make a final attempt to contact you at 30 days with a formal notification of pending forfeiture and at 45 days all project items will be forfeited as payment for services rendered.

DELIVERIES: All deliveries incur a delivery fee based on location.  Any delivery request, including location, must be approved and confirmed prior to start of work.  Changes to delivery location (ie. address, floor/level/stairs, third party storage locations, etc.) after work has started will incur additional fees.  We make no guarantees on availability or timeline for deliveries and a delivery request will not circumvent storage fees.

Pricing & Payments

PRICING: Our prices reflect a good faith estimate based on information provided at inquiry and/or initial inspection. During the repair/refinishing process unexpected damage or complications may be uncovered. Should a price modification be necessary, we will contact you to discuss options prior to completing the work.

DEPOSITS: Projects over $400.00 up to $4,000 require a 50% deposit; projects over $4,000.00 require a flat $2,000.00 deposit at time of pick up or drop off at the shop prior to start of work.

PAYMENT: We take cash, checks, and venmo; credit cards are accepted but require a 5% processing fee. Payment in full is required at completion of work.

QUALITY GUARANTEE

We guarantee wood repairs completed in our shop for one year unless otherwise noted. If our repair fails, we will correct the issue at no additional cost to you. Exceptions to our repair guarantee would include pieces that may have been repaired previously by another party, repairs to non-wood elements including particle board, pressed wood, metal, painted pieces, upholstery, and glass.
